Artificial Lift Systems

ERAX designs and manufactures artificial lift and surface pumping systems based on an integrated model, which consists of:

  • Downhole and surface pumps and assemblies
  • Surface controls and communication systems
  • Data management and reporting capabilities

When combined, these components provide operators with a versatile information-to-knowledge management tool that optimizes oil fields and process facilities. Our ESP systems cover a wide capacity range, from low to ultra-high-volume production, in both onshore and offshore applications.

Gas Mitigating Section

In many ESP applications, high Gas-Oil Ratio (GOR) conditions can significantly reduce pump efficiency or even cause gas lock, leading to frequent shutdowns and reduced production. ERAX downhole gas separation systems are specifically designed to mitigate these issues by removing or compressing free gas before it enters the pump stages.

For wells with extreme free gas content, ERAX offers tandem gas separators, high-volume gas separators, and downhole gas compressors. The gas compressor technology breaks large gas bubbles into smaller particles and reintroduces them into the fluid stream under pressure, allowing the pump to handle higher gas concentrations without performance loss.

Features:

  • Capable of handling high GOR applications
  • Abrasion-resistant bearings and Monel corrosion-resistant trim
  • Low NPSH impeller to improve gas handling capability
  • Multiple configurations: standard rotary separator, high-volume separator, or compressor systems
  • Designed for extended operational life in adverse well conditions

Seal Section

Seal sections in ERAX Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) systems are critical components that protect the submersible motor from well fluids, support the axial thrust generated by the pump, and manage internal oil expansion due to temperature changes. Our designs combine mechanical durability, corrosion resistance, and thermal adaptability to ensure long-term ESP performance in the most challenging well conditions.

Features:

  • Tandem configurations available for increased load capacity
  • High-volume oil chambers for stable lubrication and cooling
  • Multiple shaft seals for added fluid protection
  • Optional combination of bag and labyrinth chambers for specialized environments
  • Configurable to all standard ESP casing sizes (4.5” and above)
  • 100% factory-tested for pressure, thrust, and oil integrity

Benefits:

  • Extended Motor Life: Prevents contamination and premature wear in the motor
  • Enhanced Reliability: Maintains thrust capacity and lubrication stability under heavy loads
  • Corrosion Protection: Resistant to H₂S, CO₂, and chemically aggressive fluids
  • Operational Flexibility: Configurable for extreme temperature, load, and abrasion conditions
  • Reduced Maintenance Costs: Increased meantime between failures (MTBF) and fewer interventions

Motor Section

ERAX submersible motors are designed for high horsepower output, durability, and operational efficiency. Cooling is achieved by wellbore fluid circulation, and all motors are tested to stringent electrical and mechanical standards.

Features:

  • Power range from 7.5 to 1500 HP
  • High-efficiency rotor and stator designs for improved flux utilization
  • High-temperature models rated up to 500°F (260°C)
  • Corrosion-resistant materials for hostile environments
  • Monel fasteners and flame-spray coatings for added protection
  • Advanced oil filtration systems for clean motor operation
